Mini Showcase: Digital Memorial Experience
Summary
Keeper, an organization with a digital memorial product approached fortyforty labs with a threefold mandate. They wanted to redesign memorial pages to better showcase the lives of loved ones, improve memorial creation for a more user-friendly experience and introduce a dashboard that would allow their B2B clients (service providers) to manage the digital memorials they set up for their own customers.
My Role
The mandate for this client involved delivering mid-fidelity wireframes that could be handed over to their internal team for UI polish and development.
I worked independently to design the new user experience and produce the wireframes for the team.
Outcome
We delivered the wireframes in 6 weeks, along with recommendations for testing wireframes with new and current users.
The client’s internal team is currently working on refining the design and implementing it.
Questions & Considerations
A digital memorial allows far-away friends and family to participate in the communal celebration of a loved one who has passed away. This was an especially necessary opportunity during COVID lockdowns in 2020 and the following years.
It was important for our client that we allowed their customers to create profiles that were easy to use, especially at such a difficult moment in their lives, and that could faithfully represent the full lives of their loved ones. We approached this challenge by:
Identifying key information that needed to be very visible
Considering how we might create a profile that was easier to read and navigate for viewers
Asking how we might add flexible storytelling capabilities to represent key moments in the life of the deceased
